Breast pain

Breast soreness is common. It affects most women at some time in their lives. It might be sharp, stabbing, dull, throbbing or aching. It might be felt in all or part of the breasts, one breast or both. It can also affect the armpit area.

See your GP if your symptoms are not improving or painkillers are not helping, if there is a history of breast cancer in your family, or if you have any signs of pregnancy (you could do a pregnancy test first).

For more information about breast pain can be found on the NHS website.  This includes symptoms for when you should ask for an urgent GP appointment or call 111.
